Evaluation, on Volunteers, of the Slimming and Weight Reduction Effects of a Cosmetic Formulation
A study conducted by Dermscan Group, a renowned French Cosmetic Laboratory, on 20 volunteers who were massaged on their waistline with 175 g of cream once a week, and also rubbed the same area by themselves with 14 g of lotion twice a day for the rest of the week. The results showed that the waistline measurements around the navel, 5 cm above, and 4 cm below, were reduced by an average of 5.88 cm, 8.00 cm and 5.73 cm, respectively. Increasing the number of massages in the study to twice a week resulted in greater reductions of 6.68 cm, 9.10 cm and 6.90 cm, respectively. Furthermore, the participants’ body weight decreased by 1%. There was no irritation observed on the treated area. The blood tests, conducted before and after the study, concluded that there was no indication of toxicity or adverse effect.

Under these study conditions, after 28 days of treatment, the products 'Gold Shape Plus Firming Cream and Gold Shape Extra Plus Shape Firming Lotion' induced:
- A significant decrease in the average perimeter of the waistline (-6.68 ± 0.62 cm; p=0.000) at 5 cm above the navel level, in 100% of the volunteers; (-9.10 ± 0.69 cm; p=0.000) at the navel level, in 100% of the volunteers; and (-6.90 ± 0.57 cm; p=0.000) at 4 cm below the navel level, in 100% of the volunteers.
- A non-significant decrease in the body weight (-0.43 ± 0.28 kg; p=0.140) in 75% of the volunteers.
In conclusion, the products 'Gold Shape Plus Firming Cream and Gold Shape Extra Plus Shape Firming Lotion' demonstrate a slimming effect characterized by a reduction in the perimeter of the waistline.

CONCLUSION
The aim of the study was to determine, on volunteers , the slimming and weight reduction effects of a cosmetic product after 28 days of twice daily use by:
- Centimetric measurements of waistline perimeters,
- Body weight measurements.

- A significant decrease in the body weight (-0.94 ± 0.23 kg; p=0.042) in 85% of the volunteers.
In conclusion, the products 'Gold Shape Plus Firming Cream and Gold Shape Extra Plus Shape Firming Lotion' demonstrate a slimming effect characterized by a reduction in the perimeter of the waistline and a weight reduction effect characterized by a significant decrease in body weight measurement.
